Frequently Asked Questions About

Our Addiction Detox Program

An addiction detox program is the first step in recovery, providing medically supervised withdrawal management so the body can safely clear substances. At S2L Recovery, our detox lasts 5–7 days and includes 24/7 medical care, evidence-based symptom management, and a seamless transition into residential treatment. Detox alone is not a cure. It prepares you for the deeper clinical and spiritual work that follows.

Detox focuses on safely managing withdrawal symptoms under medical supervision, while rehab (residential treatment) addresses the root causes of addiction through therapy, education, and community. At S2L, our detox rehab model combines both: you begin with inpatient detox on-site and move directly into our 42-day residential phases without having to transfer to a separate facility.

During inpatient detox at S2L, you'll be cared for by our full-time medical doctor and nursing team around the clock. We use Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) only during the detox phase to keep you safe and comfortable during acute withdrawal. Once detox is complete, our medical team transitions you off controlled substances and into our Christ-centered residential program, so you're never trading one dependency for another.

Yes. Many people entering treatment are managing both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, or OCD. Our dual diagnosis detox approach ensures that both issues are identified and treated from day one. Licensed therapists and our medical team work together to create an individualized plan that addresses the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Getting started is simple. Call us at (615) 819-4175 and our admissions team will listen to your situation, verify your insurance, and walk you through next steps. Most people are admitted within 24–48 hours. We also offer airport pickup from Nashville BNA for out-of-state clients. About 70% of the men and women we serve travel from outside Tennessee.

Yes. S2L Recovery is Joint Commission accredited, the gold standard in healthcare quality and safety, and licensed by the State of Tennessee. We are also listed with SAMHSA and recognized as an AACC Christian Care Connect provider. Our accreditation means you receive the same standard of medical and clinical care found at top-tier secular facilities, combined with genuine Christ-centered discipleship.

We are out-of-network with most commercial insurance providers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, UMR, and Prime Health. We also accept TRICARE East (in-network), VA Community Care Network, and ChampVA. Our team handles the insurance verification process so you can focus on getting the help you need. Private pay options are available as well.

Most detox addiction treatment programs offer either clinical care or faith-based support, rarely both at a high level. S2L Recovery provides on-site medical detox, licensed clinical therapy, dual diagnosis treatment, and full-time ordained pastoral leadership under one roof. We have 50+ full-time staff members and maintain a 1.5-to-1 staff-to-client ratio. Our Christ-centered curriculum teaches that freedom is found through a personal relationship with Jesus, not through a lifetime label of "addict." That combination of professional excellence and biblical truth is what sets S2L apart.
