Frequently Asked Questions About

PTSD Addiction Treatment

PTSD addiction treatment is integrated dual diagnosis care for people whose post-traumatic stress disorder co-occurs with substance use. At S2L, it combines medical detox, trauma-informed clinical therapy, and biblical teaching within one residential program.

S2L is Joint Commission accredited, Christ-centered, and combines on-site medical detox with licensed trauma-informed therapy. Our 84-day program allows deeper healing than standard 30-day models, making it a top rated PTSD and addiction treatment program.

Yes. Treating one without the other often fails because untreated trauma fuels relapse and active addiction blocks trauma processing. Our dual diagnosis team addresses both at the same time.

CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Object Relations Therapy, Transference-Focused Psychotherapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Recreational Therapy, and one-on-one peer coaching, all delivered by licensed clinicians.

Medical detox lasts 5 to 7 days. Phase 1 Residential runs 42 days, and optional Phase 2 adds another 42 days. A 6-month internship and lifelong alumni aftercare are available after the residential phases.

Yes. We accept TRICARE, and our Christ-centered PTSD addiction program welcomes veterans nationwide.

Many men arrive at S2L after multiple failed attempts elsewhere. Our 84% program completion rate reflects how well extended, faith-rooted care works when shorter secular programs haven't led to lasting change.

No. You don't need to be a Christian to attend. Christ is central to our curriculum and counseling, but we welcome men and women from every background. Many arrive uncertain about faith and find it the most meaningful part of recovery.

Most commercial plans cover substantial portions of dual diagnosis care. S2L is out-of-network with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, UMR, and Prime Health. Call 615.819.4175 to verify your benefits.

S2L operates two Tennessee campuses: a 36-bed men's facility at 290 Mullican Rd, McMinnville, TN, and a 22-bed women's facility at 3180 Hill Creek Rd, Woodbury, TN. About 70% of clients travel from out of state.
